Senate Bill 606—officially called the Boating Safety Act of 2022—is a Florida law that took effect in January 2023 (with full enforcement from July 1, 2023). It strengthens boating safety by implementing stricter standards for boat rental companies (“liveries”), including permits, insurance, safety training, and reporting penalties.
