When you submit a booking request on Sailo, a payment preauthorization request is sent to your bank and a hold is placed on your credit card for the amount due. The boat owner has 24 hours to accept or decline your request. If the boat owner accepts your booking, Sailo then charges the credit card for the amount due.
The card will not be charged and the preauthorization/hold will be cancelled in the following situations:
- You cancel the booking request before the boat owner accepts it
- The booking request expired because the boat owner did not take any action (24 hours after booking request was submitted)
- The boat owner declines the booking
When you submit a booking request through a Special Offer received from the boat owner, the credit card gets charged immediately when you submit your payment details
Gratuity is generally not included in the price for captained charters. If fuel and/or other extras are not included in the charter price, then you will be required to pay these with cash or a credit card upon embarkation. Carefully read the description of each boat to find out if there are any extra charges.
