Every boat must be fully insured before going out on the water.
To rent your boat with Sailo, you must have a valid charter or commercial insurance policy that also meets our standards.
If this is not the case, you can choose Sailo's insurance package, which will cover your boat during the rental period for an extra fee of 15% of the charter price. Reach out to support@sailo.com if you want to find out more about our insurance policy.
You are also required to maintain and keep the proof of insurance (‘Proof of Insurance’) on board at all times. If an accident occurs, you might have to access your insurance policy information electronically and email us a copy of the information to the other parties involved.
Sailo does not and will not provide advice on either insurance or compliance with legislation and other legal requirements. Please remember that, as a Boat Owner on Sailo, you are entirely responsible for ensuring that your vessel is safe, secure, and in compliance with our Terms of Service.
Any insurance inquiries should be handled directly between you, as Boat Owner, and the Renter, as states and countries have different regulations, laws & policies. Please list any such requirements clearly in your boat description and mention them to the Renters prior to booking.
